Swiss Rama Watch Sa offers under RSW brand interesting timepieces. At the BaselWorld 2008 they introduced the RSW Outland. I am always fascinated by watch designs that are very technical and have an futuristic touch. The RSW Outland features a square face that has big screws to attach the band, could be straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Rama says “The RSW Outland design is inspired by the postmodern “high-tech” movement of the 1970s, a period in which architecture was a privileged mode of expression and a concept that is loyally incarnated by the Outland timepiece.”

Contrary to the principle of indicating time using hands, it is time itself that moves around a fixed monolithic marker in this innovative timepiece. Hours, minutes and seconds hands are replaced by three discs that turn to the rhythm of the movement. As a final touch and in-keeping with RSW’s other automatic watches, the Outland model also features the famous folding crank-crown mechanism.
Measurements of the Outland are height 52 mm, width: 44mm, thickness: 12mm.

There are four variations of the RSW Outland available: matt 316L steel, black PVD steel, black PVD steel combined with matt 316L steel, or 18 carat pink gold combined with matt 316L steel - All cases are available with or without diamond-setting (88 diamonds - 0.62 ct) - Sapphire crystal, crown with patented fold-out crank system - Water-resistant to 10 ATM - Swiss-made, mechanical movement with automatic winding - Hours, minutes and seconds on disks - Dials in black, gray or pink gold, with Arabic numerals - Strap in black rubber with folding clasp.
